The Idea

Inventor Kevin of PureStealth, LLC has been an avid spear fisherman for over twenty years. Often he and his dive buddies would encounter sharks in the water attracted to their string of freshly harvested fish. One particularly scary encounter in 1994 inspired Kevin to invent the Diver's Cooler. It took sixteen long years of planning, designing and prototype building...but the product is ready for delivery now.

The Diver's Cooler Features and Benefits...

Helps Preserve the Fish & Keeps Fish Stringer from Tangling in the Rocks

The cooler with it's closable lid, keeps fish out of the water and will typically be loaded with ice to help preserve the fish. After a successful dive, getting your fish to shore can be a challenge. Often the area is rocky and the spear fisherman has to contend with breakers and a reef to reach shore. A string of fish getting tangled in the rocks and coral is dangerous and damages the fish. The Diver's Cooler solves this problem by keeping the fish safe and above the problem.

In addition to fish, the Diver's Cooler can be loaded with lobsters, scallops, shrimp or other seafood catches and even has an excellent use as a method of transporting goods between boats–even medical supplies, as in Coast Guard rescues.

The cooler is approximately 47" long, 30" wide and 24" high. It's constructed of heavy-duty fiberglass and foam and is bright red with a white diver's stripe to aid in visibility. The boat-shaped design always stays upright in water and glides easily when pulled. Molded handles make it easy to transport as well as hold on to if an emergency flotation device is needed. Attaching a rope to the molded hitch allows for easy towing and anchoring to the float line or buoy. By attaching a velcro strap, available at your local hardware store, additional spears can be lashed to the side...just wrap the velcro straps or rope around the spearshaft and cooler handles to secure it in place.

Replacement hinges and screws can be found at any local hardware store. It can also be equipped with a dive flag to aid in visibility at great distances. These can be found at dive shops or sporting goods stores.

Diver's Cooler - Generation One

Spearfishing is a sport and livelihood that enjoys worldwide participation. International spearfishing competitions and expos draw large crowds from all over the world. Currently spear fishermen store their catch by attaching them to a float line or nearby buoy. This does nothing to preserve the fish and can also attract sharks, exposing the fish to theft by these predatory creatures, not to mention endangering the fishermen. Safety is always a concern for spear fishermen, who will often shorten their dives in order to avoid blood from their catch attracting sharks.

The Divers Cooler was invented by an experienced spear fisherman to solve the problem of storage during long dives in the ocean.
